Our Rector, Reverend Michael Clarke is a former Peel Regional Police officer. As such he is aware of the emotional and physical toll that First Responder’s service work can take on an individual working in this field. Together with former Peel Police Detective Gary Rubie, and former Mississauga District Fire Chief Dave Connor, the three men run “The PHOENIX P.T.S. Support Group” for First Responders. Participants include police, fire, ambulance, corrections and military personnel, both serving and retired, who are suffering from the affects of PTS, Moral Trauma and Operational Stress Injuries. All First Responders are welcome”
The Phoenix P.T.S. Support Group “First Responders Supporting First Responders through Operational Stress Injuries”
For over 5 years ST. STEPHEN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, has hosted a monthly Support Group for ALL First Responders (Serving or Retired) suffering from O.S.I. // P.T.S. The group has met the first Thursday of each month from 7-9pm. The Group leaders Gary and Dave and Michael will be bringing this program to a close, with our last meeting on Thursday February 3rd 2021. It has been an honour for the three of us to be part of this healing fellowship and we hope all members will continue to stay in touch.
